Full Job Description Department Purpose:
The purpose of production aims to create goods or services, both tangible and intangible, through means of materials or resources. In comparison, the purpose of manufacturing aims to produce tangible goods or merchandise through raw materials, labor and other equipment or technology.
Position Purpose:
To effectively lead production department associates to execute daily production operations and apply TPS, 5S, JIT and other Lean Manufacturing methods under a continuous kaizen philosophy.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Coordinate resources ensuring the completion of daily work assignments while coaching associates. Ensure quality targets are met by performing quality system audits. The results must be documented on the specified check sheet and or in data base specified for the department. Maintain the status of department specific production activities according to the production schedule in order to meet customer expectations. Apply world-class, Toyota Production System (TPS) methodologies to all manufacturing operations. Promote continuous kaizen to reduce manufacturing cost. Ensure standardized work is followed. Update standardized work and revise work procedures and work instructions as necessary. Training new Production Associates. Other duties as assigned.
TRAINING WOULD BE ON A-SHIFT THEN TRANSFER TO B-SHIFT IN FEBRUARY 2026
Qualifications, Education, Experience, & Abilities:
High School graduate or GED preferred 2 years Toyota Industries Group experience preferred. Exemplified leadership experience preferred Proficiency in purchasing and inventory control capabilities of ERP systems is preferred. Ability to understand and apply Lean Manufacturing/JIT concepts. Proficient in written and spoken English. Ability to work in a multi-cultural, team oriented environment. Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Promote and foster activities and communication to create and maintain good associate morale Set example and confirm associates adhere to safety rules, regulations and procedures Promote kaizen activities, SEQDCM, lead team members on department G&Os Implement and maintain all quality standards
