GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB

The Team Leader (Manufacturing) is proficient in all areas of production and efficiently & correctly performs all duties in addition to more complex maintenance and continuous improvement.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Works under minimal supervision. Adjusts machines to achieve production goals. Collaborates with machine operators in production proces. Assists in carrying out production growth strategy. Troubleshoots complex processing problems with little or no assistance. Actively participates in identifying and implementing continuous improvement initiatives. Determines priorities and creates procedures to meet objectives of the plant. Ensures maintenance is completed according to Preventative Maintenance Plan. Cross-trains on all production areas in the facility (i.e. safety, production, equipment). Sets production schedule based on plant and customer needs utilizing factors such as lead time and manufacturing efficiency. Supports and validates the work of machine operators by answering questions, preparing production lines, and providing general direction.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENT

No formal educational requirement.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT

4+ years’ related experience and/or training.

OTHER SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND QUALIFICATIONS

Proficient in Windows and MS Office products (Word, Excel, & Outlook). Excellent organizational and communication skills (both written and verbal). Positive team player. Knowledge of area operations and related safe work practices/procedures and demonstrated ability to coordinate work activities.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Incumbent must be able to stand, walk, sit, use hands, reach, climb, balance, kneel, talk, hear, taste, smell, and lift up to 50 lbs.
