SUMMARY:

This position is primarily responsible for the production of Sweet Grass Dairy cheeses. This is a hands-on position, and the candidate is expected to be on the production floor 100% of the time.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

60% Production Make cheeses following strict recipes and procedures Adjust to various flows of production 30% Cleaning throughout the plant Clean tools, parts, floors, and walls Clean cheese wheels 10% Packaging product Review the production schedule as needed Cutting wheels Wrapping

ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Completing additional cleaning assignments Carry out all reasonable requests by management to assist in any area of the plant as needed.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES

Education:

High School degree required

Certifications:

HACCP a plus. ServSafe Certified a plus.

Computer Skills:

Basic computer skills a plus

Other Qualifications, Experience and Competencies:

Knowledge of food safety and sanitation. Knowledge of safety practices and procedures for cheese making equipment. Knowledge of and ability to perform basic math, including calculations using fractions, percentages, and ratios. Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Ability to prioritize, organize, and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously. Ability to utilize strong problem solving skills and develop new ideas and solutions to problems. Ability to multitask and adjust priorities with a sense of urgency. Ability to exhibit attention to detail.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. Must be able to work in a cool environment as well as a warm environment. Position sometimes requires extended hours including evenings and/or weekends.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The work is performed primarily in a manufacturing and warehouse environment. Standing most of the work day is required. Work requires movement in and out of store rooms, and coolers Exposure to extreme temperatures (hot and cold) due to heating and refrigeration equipment.
