Job Summary:
TheAdvanced Microelectronics Solutions (AMS) Department is searchingfor a Semiconductor Backside Via Process Lead to join our III-Vcompound semiconductor foundry team fabricating gallium nitride andgallium arsenide-based devices within the Advanced MicroelectronicsSolutions (AMS) Department. This role requires a broadunderstanding of microelectronics processing and subject matterexpertise in one or more backside via process related techniquesincluding photolithography, sputtering, Dry Etch, andElectro-plating. As a member of the AMS Department, the individualin this role will serve as the backside via process lead engineerand collaborate with the various engineering work centers in theIII-V semiconductor wafer foundry. The candidate will lead andassist projects in process sustainment, capital allocation,directing process and capital qualifications, improving cycle time,improving product yield, developing new data driven controls, anddriving overall wafer movement efficiency. The chosen candidate isexpected to be an innovative and creative thinker capable ofprobing issues and reaching solutions both independently and in ateam environment. The ideal candidate will have working knowledgeof various microelectronics processing techniques, including wetand dry etching, lift-off techniques, photolithography, metrology,process characterization, foundry data integrity, and large dataanalysis methods. The candidate is expected to work well in largeand small, cross-functional teams, understand foundry processes,determine capacity limitations, improve overall equipmenteffectiveness, identify yield improvement opportunities, gathersponsorship and team resources, and execute on continuousimprovement activities. Presence on the foundry floor is essentialfor quick resolution of technical issues as well as the ability towork with operations, facilities, equipment, and quality teams. Therole requires a large degree of multitasking with attention todetail while managing priorities depending on the nature of theproblems and the commitments. This role will be 100% on-site andbased in Andover, MA.
What You Will Do:
- Sustainment of currentdeposition production processes and involvement with development ofnew process
- Set and report center priorities at the 8am foundrytier meeting
- Identify process improvement opportunities
- Lead8Ds and RCCAs
- Create, document, maintain and approve workinstructions
- Assist process engineers in training users andoperators on semiconductor processes and equipment
- Manipulatelarge datasets and use statistical analysis to define SPC controls,manage projects, and assign risk
- Develop and report on actionabledeposition work center health metrics
- Identify capital needs,collaborate with tool vendors, assist in tool acceptance, andcreate plans/schedules for tool and process qualifications
- Frequently work on the foundry floor and interact with variousprocess engineering, equipment engineering, digital technologies,quality, facilities, and operation teams
Qualifications You MustHave:
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology,Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of priorrelevant experience in semiconductor processing techniquesincluding photolithography, dry etching, metals evaporation, andoptical or scanning electron microscope inspections, or an advanceddegree in a related field
- The ability to obtain and maintain a USsecurity clearance.
U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S.citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications WeValue:
- Knowledge of multidisciplinary semiconductor processes,tool health monitoring, uniformity controls, SECS/GEM experience,and proficient in statistical process control
- Excellentcommunication skills to effectively transfer ideas
- Broadknowledge related to semiconductor processing, device physics, anddata analysis
- Experience troubleshooting a wide set offabrication equipment in addition to establishing equipmentqualification and preventative maintenance procedures
- Experiencein a data analysis software packages (e.g. MATLAB, Python, SQL,JMP)
- Ability to lead and coordinate technical projects withcross-functional teams
- Experience with characterizing,understanding, and improving semiconductor device performance andreliability

- 130,000USD.
The salary range provided is a good faith estimaterepresentative of all experience levels.
