Overview
The pay range for this position ranges from $27.30/hr – $28.35/hr
This is a mid-level experience position to work in the Shipfitting Trade. Applicants will be assigned any Shipfitter trade function with limited assistance from a more experienced Shipfitter, including (but not limited to):
Fabrication of items made from sheet metal, steel, stainless steel, and aluminum such as hull outfit foundations, tanks, small assemblies, and bulkhead assemblies using sketches and drawings.
Installing items on units or on ships including (but not limited to): set up of mock stations, layout and installation of shell/deck stringers, layout and installation of back-up structure, layout and install hull outfit foundations using assembly sketches and blue prints.
Fabricating and installing major equipment foundations using fabrication sketches and drawings.
Responsibilities
Preferred High School Diploma or GED.
Preferred Minimum 1 year Technical or Vocational training in steel fabrication or carpentry trade.
Qualifications
Required Minimum 1 year experience in metals fabrication or installation.
Required Must be able to read blueprints in detail.
Required Must have experience working with metal, hand tools, and power tools.
Required Must meet the requirements of the Shipfitter physical task analysis.
