Responsible for providing support to production departments assigned to vessels and various areas within the shipyard.
Key Responsibilities:
Grind, tack, and assist fitters. Familiarity with basic welding and fitting processes. Basic working knowledge of shipbuilding operations and relevant tools. Work safely at heights and within confined spaces. Enter and navigate manholes to perform tasks in confined internal spaces. Provide assistance to ship fitters as needed. Conduct fire watch duties.
Experience:
Prior experience in a shipyard or manufacturing environment is preferred.
Skills & Abilities:
Capable of performing general labor tasks. Able to work in diverse weather conditions. Comfortable working at heights (above 5 feet) and in confined or enclosed spaces. Physically able to lift heavy objects. Able to wear and work with a respirator when necessary.
