Production Operator – SAP Dept Zappa Stewart, a Chase Corporation Company 1954 Main Avenue SE, Hickory, NC Position Summary We are looking for dependable, hardworking candidates with the ability to work independently to fill our Production Operator positions. The Production Operator plays a key role in accurate production, high quality products for our customers. Candidates must be proficient in math including basic math, fractions with the ability to convert to metric system. Job requires lifting up to 50lbs, bending, stretching movements and standing throughout the work shift. Must be able to read and follow training and instructions. This is a 1st shift position: 7am – 3pm M – F (OT on Sat as needed) Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Additional Responsibilities as Assigned) Compounding Add ingredients (weigh in) into mixing vessel using drum lifts with scale, and smaller containers. Occasional lifting of 50 lb powder bags may be necessary. Respirator needs to be worn during powder addition. Lifting device is available. Mix as specified in procedures. Perform simple lab test(s) Dispense blend, clean equipment Complete documentation Coating Run and trouble shoot continuous machines, clean them as needed Perform in process quality tests as needed and specified. Complete documentation Converting Run stamping and inspection equipment Data collection Complete documentation Education High school diploma or equivalent preferred 2-5 years experience in predominantly manufacturing environment Basic math knowledge Percentages Understand ratios, work with ratios Simple measurement unit conversions (g/kg, mm/inch, etc) Knowledge and Experience High level of accuracy in filling out paperwork: production documentation, nonconforming material documentation Ability to recognize quality issues Ability and willingness to adhere to operational discipline Follow site rules and site safety and security procedures Able to follow written procedures in great detail Able to trouble shoot machinery and production process Communicates well in English on production, quality and maintenance issues, verbally, or in writing. Capable of writing production related information clearly and tersely. Basic knowledge of Excel and Word is highly desired. Forklift driving certification highly desirable. Can be trained and certified on the job. Required Work Experience 1-3 years
