Carpenter Co. has an immediate opening for a Saw Tailer Operator B on 3rd shift at our Longview manufacturing plant. Carpenter Co. employees are committed to working hard to ensure production goals are met while maintaining operations excellence. As the Saw Tailor, you will be responsible for offloading cut foam and fiber parts as well as excess trim material from the out-feed conveyors of the VCC and Gerber cutting machines.
Job Summary:
Non-Essential Functions:

SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS
Offload foam/fiber parts from the cutting line conveyor, label, and place on carts. Transport carts to the next department for processing, either for bonded glue or sewing. Trim foam and fiber are placed the baler for baling and recycle. Perform quality checks on foam with a tape measure. Retrieve empty carts and buggies from various plant locations. Assist machine operator with initial setup, simple maintenance, and cleaning. Group customer item numbers together by style number purchase number and date. On the job training is provided. Some manufacturing experience preferred.
Minimum Qualifications:
Basic Reading, Writing and Math Skills. Must have some computer experience and be able to use a computer in day-to-day operations. Must be able to work flexible hours, weekends, holidays and call-in with little notice. Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions. Must be able to work with little or no supervision.
Education:
High school education (diploma) or GED is preferred.
