Production Parts Specialist Confidential Mocksville, NC 27028
Position Summary:
The Production Spare Parts Specialist is responsible for the coordination, tracking, and procurement of spare parts required to support production equipment and maintenance operations at DFA. This role also oversees the ordering of all non-Raw Material supplies used in the facility and ensures correct accounting practices are followed. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, resourceful in sourcing hard-to-find parts, and capable of working closely with internal departments to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain accurate inventory of all spare parts and ensure critical items are stocked appropriately to minimize downtime. Process and track spare parts requests from the maintenance and production teams. Source hard-to-find, discontinued, or custom components through alternate vendors or repair/rebuild services. Manage the purchase and replenishment of all non-material supplies (e.g., maintenance tools, facility supplies, safety items, etc.). Create and manage purchase orders for all spare parts and non-material supplies. Work closely with accounting to ensure all purchases are properly coded and align with budget expectations. Follow up with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery and resolve any discrepancies. Organize and maintain a well-labeled, efficient spare parts storage area. Monitor inventory usage trends and provide stocking recommendations. Collaborate with maintenance technicians and Manager to confirm correct part specifications and ensure alignment with operational needs. Support cost-saving initiatives and continuous improvement efforts within the maintenance supply process.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required; associate degree or technical certification preferred. 2+ years of experience in spare parts coordination, MRO procurement, or maintenance support in a manufacturing environment. Experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred) and Microsoft Office (especially Excel and Outlook). Strong communication, organization, and vendor negotiation skills. Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
Preferred Skills:
Experience sourcing specialized or obsolete parts from domestic and international suppliers. Understanding of manufacturing equipment and maintenance operations. Familiarity with accounting or purchasing systems and cost center coding. Knowledge of preventive maintenance practices and part lifecycle management.

Full-time Pay:
$50,000.00 – $65,000.00 per year
