Junior’s Dress Designer
Our client, a wholesale apparel company, is seeking a Junior’s Dress Designer to join their NYC team!
Responsibilities
Support the creation of junior dress lines each season, from concept through final design
Conduct trend and competitor research to guide design direction
Develop mood boards, color stories, and detailed technical packages
Partner with production to ensure styles are manufacturable and cost-aligned
Participate in fit sessions and provide actionable feedback on garments
Collaborate with merchandising to align creative ideas with business goals
Keep current on new fabrications, techniques, and youth style shifts
Contribute to internal design reviews and prepare visuals for presentations and trade events
Qualifications
Degree in Fashion Design, Textile Design, or a similar discipline
Minimum of 5 years of experience designing apparel, ideally in the junior or dress category
Proficient in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and other design tools
Skilled in both hand sketching and creating detailed technical drawings
Deep knowledge of fabric types, color use, and construction techniques
Strong awareness of current fashion and youth market trends
Clear, concise communicator with solid collaboration skills
Able to thrive in a fast-moving, team-based setting
$80k-$115k depending on experience.
Full time in office, 5 days a week.
