You, our Crate Builder + Delivery Driver + Shop Assistant, are a hands-on problem solver with a strong work ethic, a keen eye for detail, and a deep respect for craftsmanship. In this dynamic and essential role, you’ll contribute across multiple departments—building custom shipping crates to ensure the safe delivery of our pieces, supporting deliveries with care and professionalism, and assisting with day-to-day operations in our busy fabrication shop. Job Responsibilities:
  • Support all Crating/ Shipping Department initiatives and tasks as directed by the Supervisor of Manufacturing.
  • Safely transport parts, products, and materials to and from local vendors, suppliers, and clients throughout the Tristate area.
  • Load and unload high-value, delicate items with care and attention to detail.
  • Build custom wood crates to exact specifications, ensuring secure packaging for shipping our hand-crafted pieces.
  • Wrap, pack, and prepare luxury lighting and furniture for transit with the utmost care.
  • Support the crating and logistics teams by anticipating needs and stepping in where required.
  • Maintain accurate records of deliveries, pickups, and scrap recycling weights.
  • Conduct routine vehicle checks and communicate any maintenance needs promptly.
  • Flex with changing priorities and routes while maintaining punctuality and professionalism.
  • Follow all safety procedures and uphold high standards of care in every task.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with the production team to meet deadlines and maintain studio flow.
  • Provide general support in the fabrication shop as directed by the Supervisor of Manufacturing. Required Experience/Skills
  • 1+ year of professional driving experience, ideally in a fabrication, warehouse, or manufacturing setting.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record; confident behind the wheel of company vans.
  • Strong sense of responsibility, punctuality, and commitment to delivering excellence.
  • Physically able to lift and maneuver up to 50 lbs regularly and safely.
  • Familiarity with local roads and traffic patterns; able to follow routes and adjust as needed.
  • Comfortable working independently while maintaining clear communication with the team.
  • Working knowledge of general woodshop equipment (panel saw, miter saw, etc.); experience with crate building or woodworking a plus.
  • Art handling experience is a bonus but not required.
  • Strong team building, people management, and decision-making skills
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills with an ability to collaborate effectively across teams and communicate technical details to nontechnical stakeholders
  • Excellent physical and digital organizational skills
  • High level of time management and ability to work on several projects simultaneously
