A day in the life of a Production Lead at Thorne requires: Becoming knowledgeable of the applicable provisions of the Production Department’s Standard Operation Procedures (SOPs) and Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs) and follows them. Employee remains knowledgeable on an ongoing and timely basis as changes in the SOPs and GMPs occur. Ensuring production equipment and work areas are cGMP compliant. Being responsible for the completions and accuracy of all controlled production documents, including
MDR, MMR, MOM
log etc. before submitting them to the next section or department. Being capable of training production operators in their job duties and assuming the responsibility of trainer for their section. Responsible for managing the shift activities of one or more areas of the production departments, including personnel, materials, schedules, quality, and production goals. Ensuring all necessary components and resources are available to meet production requirements in compliance with established quality standards and goals. Demonstrating the ability to provide ongoing written and oral direction and clarity to production operators. Ensuring all operators are trained in SOP’s and that they are properly followed. Keeping Operations Leadership updated daily on personnel, production goals, quality, and equipment. Responsible for timely completion of new employee training and training documentation in area assigned. Assisting in the timely completion of performance appraisals for department personnel. Leads and supervises in the quick set up of all phases of assigned area for smooth operation and maximum output. Notifying the Operations Leadership of any problems that affect output. Having sufficient knowledge of the area and equipment being operated to create/review procedures, make machine adjustments, without supervision, in accordance with cGMP and Thorne guidelines. Maintaining a standard output for each product being processed and continuously improves speed and performance. Immediately notifying Operations Leadership of any machine problems or anomalies outside of normal operations that effect output and the well-being of the equipment or the quality of the product. Completes problem discoveries and assists with investigations. At shift change, efficiently coordinating with the previous and next shifts by continuing to operate equipment while achieving consistent results and without a loss of productivity.
What You Need:
Minimum High school diploma or
GED Math Ability:
Employee has the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in the units of measurement used in the Production Department, using whole numbers and decimals (for example, converting grams to kilograms). Prior manufacturing experience
