Production Team Lead 2.4 2.4 out of 5 stars 2978 Lancaster Hwy, Richburg, SC 29729 Job Summary The purpose of this position is to lead production associates. A skilled and experienced person to guide the team in ensuring production efficiency and quality; and that is where the manufacturing team leader comes in. This individual will lead a team of associates to achieve targets established for safety, service, quality, cost, and continuous improvement. Will have leadership experience in a manufacturing environment using extrusion or calendaring processes with a proven record of achieving results. Also a demonstrated record of participating in a safety oriented culture and a leadership style which engages associates. Essential Duties & Functions – Production Team Leader- Curing Night Shift Drive efforts to achieve and maintain world-class production, quality and safety metrics Use critical path thinking to assure production activities are in compliance with company policies and procedures to include environmental and safety compliance Directly empower all team members and support associates to achieve personal, plant and company goals Supports safe behavior/awareness programs and provide a strong safety presence on the plant floor Evaluate manufacturing equipment for safety and functionality Manage manufacturing process to ensure product is delivered on time and under budget while maintaining quality standards Oversee and direct plant floor activities and participate in production when required Conducts and/or coordinates training of associates Work with equipment engineers on the installation and start-up of equipment Safely and proficiently operates all machines and perform all functions Ensures all equipment and machines in plant are maintained properly Assist in providing safety, quality and production leadership for all plant associates Ensure that products and goods manufactured meet quality standards obtainable in the industry Ensures all documentation and production records are competed accurately and properly Enforces housekeeping standards Motivate workers to enhance production quantity and at the same time maintain high production standards Assist the Production Management in the daily production of quality luxury vinyl in the safest, most efficient and productive manner, by utilizing established methods and procedures Oversee utilization of staff resources and migrate workers to key areas to optimize production Assist the production associates to optimize productivity and continuous improvement of his or her assigned area, including recognizing and troubleshooting problems in the manufacturing process Assist in the training and assessment of new hires/transfers to the department Ensuring that they are able to perform their jobs as outlined in the applicable job descriptions. Ensure product is always being manufactured to the proper specifications Keep records of equipment, budgets, deliveries and supplies, and make them available to management for evaluation Work as middleman between workers and management to create healthy communication Communicate between shifts to insure proper handoff to the following shift Lead by example as a positive, team-oriented employee Perform other duties of equal or less complexity as assigned or directed by management Attract, develop, coach, engage and retain high-performance team members, empowering them to elevate their level of responsibility and performance Skills/Qualifications Calendaring process experience strongly preferred Excellent communication skills Basic computer and math skills Previous Lead experience preferred Demonstrated leadership and team-building skills Familiar with Emotional Intelligence (EI) and/or Emotional Quotient (EQ) Ability to give directions to team members Must be safety cautious Possess strong interpersonal skills to relate with all members of the team Supervisory Responsibilities This position may have supervisory responsibilities. Education and/or Experience Associates degree or equivalent; or equivalent combination of education and experience Minimum 3 years related experience Previous manufacturing experience The want and desire to have fun while working as part of a dynamic team of professionals Passion and track record of achieving results Proven ability to work collaboratively with all levels of associates Demonstrated ability to make timely decisions Proven ability to establish positive employee regulations Experience with continuous manufacturing processes Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The noise level in the work environment may be noisy.
