HTI is seeking a Production Team Leader (2nd Shift) for one of the largest independent paperboard converters in the U.S., located just outside of Greenville in Piedmont, SC. Employing a team of dedicated, motivated, and highly trained individuals, this manufacturer maintains state-of-the-art equipment and upholds the highest standards of cleanliness and efficiency.
Pay range: $24 – $28 / hour, depending on experience
Working hours: 2nd shift, 4pm-2am (Monday-Friday)

Requirements:

Must have 3+ years of Team Lead or supervisory experience in a manufacturing/production environment
Experience operating large production machinery and equipment; should be mechanically inclined with good troubleshooting skills
Strong leadership and problem-solving skills
Must have high school diploma or GED
Must have forklift experience and/or certification
Ability to lift up to 50+ pounds
Must be mathematically inclined with the ability to work with calipers, and other measuring tools and equipment
Job duties:
The Production Team Leader (2nd Shift) will be responsible for ensuring smooth and efficient manufacturing operations by operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting equipment, while also monitoring processes, personnel, collecting data, and collaborating with other teams to improve quality and productivity. Assign tasks, communicate expectations and supervise staff to ensure tasks are completed correctly, on time.
Look for ways to improve efficiency.
Evaluate staff performance and provide training where necessary.
Understand and enforce safety standards.
Ability to adjust to multiple demands, shifting work priorities and change.
Operate coating machine and run several processes with different widths and coating applications.
Set up and monitor computer operations for production requirements and results.
Make equipment adjustments to manage coating distribution, speed, and temperature in the drying chambers.
Make quick corrections to avoid expensive losses of paper and coatings.
Ensure that paper and coatings meet specifications.
Guide paper through the web path, adjust feed and tension controls appropriately.
Monitor product quality during coating runs. Check product quality against established quality standards. Report any visual observations immediately. Take action to correct any problems.
Perform all backup checks of team members as well as any quality checks assigned to the work order.
Communicate course of action to rectify any quality concerns with the Quality team and plant leadership.
Communicate with the maintenance team and follow-up regarding any equipment issues.
Schedule and manage machine cleaning requirements.
Maintain acceptable productivity standards while minimizing waste.
Accurately complete all job-related paperwork.
Operate clamp and lift trucks.
