Full Job Description Description:

Bailey sold its first forklift in 1949. Since then, Bailey has been a family-owned and operated business dedicated to selling, leasing, renting, servicing, and providing parts for forklift trucks throughout the Southeast. The Tire Press Operator follows a set process which includes operating a forklift, lifting and rolling tires, loading and unloading the tire press, and removing and installing tires on the forklifts. This process may be repeated 15-20+ times per day, depending on business demands.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Replace tires on forklifts. Operate the forklift safely. Operate the tire press safely. Position body to safely remove, roll, and position tires on the press using the lift table. Maintain good working records for time, parts, supplies and outside purchases in repairs. Maintain and care for tools, equipment and forklifts. Assist with loading and unloading of tires. Participate in the Bailey Company’s safety, training, and environmental sustainability programs, and maintaining licenses and certifications to avoid expirations. Represent Bailey by maintaining professional appearance, wearing Bailey uniform, keeping work areas clean, and being courteous and informative with customers. Handle other duties and special projects as assigned.

Education/Training/Experience:

A technical school certificate or equivalent experience in mechanical repairs

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:

Steel toed, non-slip, work boots (boot reimbursement provided by Bailey). Leather gloves, rubber gloves (provided by Bailey). Safety glasses (provided by Bailey). Hearing protection (provided by Bailey). Safety vest (provided by Bailey).

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Daily Caution Zones:

Total 2 or more hours per day Sitting, squatting, kneeling, reaching, pushing, and pulling Standing while working for periods of 30 minutes or more at a time Lifting heavy objects (over 80 lbs) slightly off ground using foot as lever and rolling Gripping an unsupported object weighing 10 or more pounds per hand or gripping with a force of 10 or more pounds per hand: In addition to other tools, the jack and impact gun are used throughout the day. Impact gun (high vibration levels) is used throughout the day Standing, squatting or kneeling around forklift Exposure to hot and cold weather, warm and cool warehouses Slip and fall hazards, wet floors Compression, pinch, and cut hazards working around tires The impact gun creates excessive noise and require hearing protection

Daily Caution Zones:

Total 1 hour per day Lifting objects weighing more than 50 pounds when helping load unload tires

Occasional Caution Zones:
