Job SummaryThe generallaborer position is responsible for performing tasks onrecently-slaughtered turkeys or tasks that support the overalloperations within the department.

• Available JobsApplicants for theProduction Associate job may be offered a position in any of thefollowing departments:
• Evisceration
• Shift Start Timeapproximately 3:00 PM.
• -Evisceration Production Associatesperform tasks to clean and eviscerate (remove the organs of)recently-slaughtered turkeys to prepare for additional processingand packaging.

Essential duties include:

perform varying manual,repetitive tasks to remove organs and parts from slaughteredturkeys; perform repetitive tasks with assistance of tools, such asknives and scissors, to remove organs and parts from slaughteredturkeys; train to proficiency to rotate through jobs and performmultiple tasks within the department; perform any job in thedepartment at the supervisor’s discretion. Assigned job duties maychange and vary day-to-day depending upon production needs

• Packaging
• Shift Start Time approximately 5:00 PM.
• -The generallaborer position is responsible for performing tasks on chilled rawturkeys or tasks that support the overall operations within thedepartment.

Essential duties include:

perform various tasks toinclude repetitive manual labor to package chilled raw turkeys inpreparation for shipment to customers.

• Other jobs may includerepetitive manual labor to sort, box, label, and palletize packagedraw turkeys in preparation for shipment to customers.
• Some jobsare performed with the assistance of tools or automated equipmentwhile other jobs are performed by hand.
• Some jobs are required tocomplete HACCP and other checks and record appropriately.
• Observes equipment operation, notifying appropriate personnel ofany malfunctions and/or safety issues/concerns.
• Will be requiredto rotate to various functions within the processing department andperform any job in the department at the supervisor’s discretion.

Assigned job duties may change and vary day-to-day depending uponproduction needs.

• Working ConditionsWorking conditions vary bydepartment but may include:
• May work in damp, cold, hot, and warmenvironments.

Exposure to raw meat and associated parts, includingbut not limited to organs, blood, and fecesWork with loud and noisymachineryWork with or around chemicals/fumes/pungent odorsMandatoryovertime or weekend workThere is mandatory seasonal work forapproximately 5 to 6 weeks during the months of October andNovember, which includes working 7 days per week

• PhysicalRequirementsStanding (8 hours a day or more).

Lifting, carrying,pushing or pulling (up to and including 65lbs or more).Reachingoverhead (up to and including 25lbs).Operating hand held and/ormechanical machinery.

Walking/climbing stairs.

• Gripping, grasping,and twisting using hands and wrists.

Bending and stooping for longperiods of time.

Working with scissors or knives.

Bending andstooping for long periods of time.

Ability to wear all personalprotective equipment (PPE) and hygiene equipment, including but notlimited to steel mesh guards, bump cap/hard hat, steel-toedfootwear, hearing protection, smock, and gloves
