Shifts Vary Position Summary:
The Production Technician is responsible for monitoring and executing production processes, operating manufacturing equipment, and maintaining full compliance with company and regulatory safety and quality standards. This role plays a key part in ensuring efficient production flow and product quality while supporting continuous improvement activities.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate manufacturing equipment in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOPs). Monitor production processes to ensure adherence to safety, quality, and performance standards. Comply with all company safety policies, procedures, and demonstrate safe behaviors at all times. Understand and follow quality systems and regulatory requirements including: Quality Data System (QDS) Safe Quality Food (SQF) Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) Complete machine changeovers, line clearances, cleaning, and pre-checks following standard work instructions. Learn machine operations actively and apply knowledge to maintain or exceed performance standards. Perform timely and accurate documentation and verification activities across various systems: COLOS (labeling software) PeopleSoft (HR/ERP) SAP (ERP system) Manufacturing Execution System (MES) TrackWise Paper-based records Identify and escalate line issues promptly, including participation in Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) activities. Remain on the line during maintenance calls to provide operational context and learn from troubleshooting events.
Qualifications:
Required:
High school diploma or GED Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and equipment Ability to comply with safety, quality, and documentation requirements Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn technical skills Basic computer skills (e.g., data entry, using manufacturing software)
Preferred:
Experience in a regulated manufacturing environment (e.g., food, pharma, cosmetics) Familiarity with systems like COLOS, SAP, MES, or PeopleSoft Prior experience with GMP, HACCP, or SQF standards
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs for extended periods Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-production environment Must be able to wear required PPE and follow hygiene protocols
