Full Job Description Position Highlights :

The selected candidate will contribute to a state-of-the-art Biorepository resource based at the Moffitt Cancer Center and facilitate oncology research at Moffitt. Attends in-house courses, seminars, and workshops related to core activities and cancer biology. The Tissue Core provides a rewarding work environment that supports Moffitt’s research mission and cutting-edge investigator driven science.

The Ideal Candidate:

Experience in working in a fast-paced environment Ability to precisely follow established workflows and SOPs with preferred experience in general laboratory techniques Must be able to perform with minimal supervision with guidance from senior staff Proficient use of Microsoft applications is necessary Good organizational skills Attention to detail

Responsibilities:

The Research Specialist I will be responsible for Learning and performing routine specimen processing from various biologic specimen types Utilizing the Tissue Core’s Laboratory Information Management System for project intake, specimen labeling, processing and/or handling and tracking Documentation and inventory management in inventory system application

Credentials and Qualifications:

High School Diploma/GED required, Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Immunology or related scientific field preferred. A minimum of two years in a science related field with High School Diploma. One year of laboratory experience with AA/AS degree. No experience required with BS/BA degree. Proficient Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) Core specific licensure and/or certifications required Annual Human Subjects Training, i.e. CITI is required Moffitt Team Members are eligible for Medical, Dental, Vision, Paid Time Off, Retirement, Parental Leave and more.
