Calibration Technician Position Summary:
The Quality Inspector / Calibration Technician is responsible for ensuring products meet specified quality standards through rigorous inspection and precise measurement. This dual-role professional also performs calibration, maintenance, and verification of measurement instruments and equipment used in production and inspection processes. This position supports manufacturing excellence, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities Quality Inspection Duties:
Conduct visual, mechanical, and dimensional inspections of incoming materials, in-process components, and finished goods Use precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, height gauges, indicators, CMMs, etc.) to ensure compliance with specifications Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical documents Document and report inspection results clearly and accurately Identify non-conforming materials and support root cause analysis and corrective actions Perform in-process audits to verify conformance with work instructions and quality procedures Ensure products meet ISO, customer, and internal quality standards Collaborate with production and quality engineering teams to resolve quality issues
Calibration Technician Duties:
Perform routine calibration and verification of test and measurement instruments per established schedules Maintain calibration records and ensure traceability to national/international standards (e.g., NIST) Troubleshoot equipment and recommend repair, adjustment, or replacement when necessary Develop and improve calibration methods and processes for efficiency and accuracy Maintain calibration laboratory cleanliness, tool inventory, and environmental compliance Ensure proper labeling of calibrated equipment with accurate status, date, and due dates Work with external calibration vendors as needed and ensure certifications are up to date
Skills and Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certifications in Quality Inspection or Metrology preferred 2+ years of combined experience in quality inspection and equipment calibration in a manufacturing or lab environment Proficient in using measuring tools and equipment Strong knowledge of GD&T, blueprint reading, and calibration principles Familiarity with ISO 9001, AS9100, or other relevant quality standards Experience with calibration software and data logging systems Detail-oriented with excellent record-keeping and analytical skills Ability to work independently and communicate clearly with cross-functional teams
Work Environment:
Manufacturing floor and calibration lab May involve standing, lifting up to 25 lbs, and working around machinery #kpb

$22.00 – $28.00 per hour Expected hours: 40 per week
