Diageo Montgomery:

As part of building aresilient and efficient supply network, Diageo North America plansto open a new manufacturing and warehousing facility in Montgomery,Alabama. The 360,000 sq ft site will support Diageo’s brands withmulti-million case capacity, enhancing North American supply chainoperations and supporting export growth. It aims to reducelogistics-related emissions and employ state-of-the-art technologyfor water and energy efficiency.

Context/Scope:

The MontgomeryOperation offers a diverse product range. The Quality Team ensurescompliance with regulations, ISO 9001, FSSC 22000, and corporatestandards. The Quality Team Leader supervises daily qualityoperations, maintains Food Safety and Quality assurance standards,and oversees sensory, analytical, and microbiological testing,working closely with production teams to meet qualitystandards.

Purpose of Role:

As a key member of the plant QualityTeam, the Quality Team Leader develops, implements, and monitorspolicies, procedures, and training to support the site’s qualityobjectives.

The role focuses on:

Ensuring employee safety Managing night shift Quality Technicians Maintaining compliance with Food Safety/HACCP and regulatorystandards Providing leadership to address Food Safety and Qualityissues Supporting innovation, brand changes, and supply optimizationthrough project facilitation Developing quality processes and programs, including SPC anddatabase management

Key Outputs:

Promote safety and food safety agendas to ensure a safeworkplace and safe products Lead shift quality operations, ensuring process adherence tostandards Manage Quality Technicians, providing resources andsupport Monitor product quality, ingredient compliance, and approvalprocesses Engage with vendors to ensure packaging and componentstandards Oversee nonconformance and qualification product holds Lead quality-related projects to enhance systems andprograms

Qualifications and Experience Required:

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent, preferably in Packaging,Chemistry, or related field, or five years’ experience in qualitywithin a bottling environment Strong communication, organizational, analytical skills, andmulti-tasking ability Proven change management skills in manufacturing Leadership experience, with at least two years leadingteams Knowledge of TTB, State regulations, ISO 9001, and FSSC 22000standards is a plus Flexibility to work nights and weekends in a 24/7operation
