In Montgomery, Alabama, Diageo is establishing a new 360,000 sq ftmanufacturing and warehousing facility to support supply chainresilience and growth, featuring advanced technology for efficiencyand sustainability.
Context/Scope:
The Montgomery operation produces a diverse range of spirits andready-to-drink cocktails. The Quality Team ensures compliance withregulations and standards such as ISO 9001 and
FSSC 22000.
TheQuality Team Leader supervises daily quality operations, includingsensory, analytical, and microbiological analyses, and collaborateswith production staff to meet quality standards.
Purpose of Role:
The Quality Team Leader develops, implements, and monitorspolicies, procedures, and training to support the site qualityagenda, focusing on safety, compliance, decision-making, andquality improvement initiatives.
Key Outputs:
Champion food safety and personnel safety to ensure a safeworkplace and food-safe products. Lead shift operations for quality, ensuring processes meetspecifications. Manage Quality Technicians on assigned shifts, providingresources and support. Monitor activities including product evaluation, formulaadherence, and ingredient analysis. Coordinate with vendors to ensure componentcompliance. Oversee product holds and disposition processes. Lead quality projects to enhance systems and programs.
Qualifications and Experience Required:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, preferably in Packaging,Chemistry, or related field, or five years’ experience in qualitywithin a bottling company. Strong communication, organization, analytical skills, andability to multitask. Proven leadership with at least two years of team managementexperience. Knowledge of TTB and state regulations, ISO 9001, FSSC 22000standards is a plus. Flexibility to work nights and weekends in a 24/7operation.
