What You’ll Do As a Manager, Quality Assurance, you will directly contribute to LifeLink’s life-saving mission. The Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for the overall effectiveness of the Quality Assurance (QA) program at LifeLink Tissue Bank (LLTB), which includes the Audit system (internal and external), and the Quality Incident system (errors, non-conformances, complaints, adverse events, and CAPA). The Quality Assurance Manager provides leadership and supervision to the Quality Assurance team. The Quality Assurance Manager participates in Quality Department goal setting and budgeting process.
Key Responsibilities:
Responsible for managing the Internal and External Audit systems, which includes ongoing continuous improvement, monitoring for compliance and quality, training, and evaluating for effectiveness. Responsible for managing and developing the Internal Audit Schedule. Responsible for managing the Quality Incident system (errors, non-conformances, complaints, adverse events, and CAPA), which includes ongoing continuous improvement, monitoring for compliance and quality, training, and evaluating for effectiveness. Responsible for managing continuous improvement projects related to their scope of authority and providing input into projects and initiatives for the division. Responsible for development, maintaining, and presenting (at Management Review) relevant Quality system performance metrics. Responsible for developing and delivering high-quality training as it pertains to systems within their scope of authority. Maintains current knowledge of quality and tissue banking best practices and evolving industry trends and requirements. Responsible for the development and ongoing continuous improvement of documented policies, procedures, and work instructions within their scope of authority. Ensures compliance to AATB standards, FDA, applicable state, and international regulations within their scope of authority. Ensures the establishment, maintenance, and communication of key performance indicators pertinent to monitoring the health of systems within their scope of authority. Works collaboratively with other departments to lead root cause investigations, facilitate problem-solving activities, and projects. Who You Are Passionate about helping others and making a difference Aligned with LifeLink’s core values of Compassion, Excellence, Legacy, People, and Quality Requires a bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline, master’s degree preferred. Requires a minimum of four years of experience in tissue banking quality assurance, with at least one year in a supervisory/decision-making role. Certification by the American Association of Tissue Banks is required. Certification by the American Society for Quality is preferred (CQA or CMQ/OE). Requires the interpersonal ability to effectively interact with management and staff. Advanced computer skills required (Microsoft Office, Adobe, software-as-a-service platforms.) Requires excellent verbal and written communication. Requires excellent organizational skills, ability to manage competing priorities, and the ability to maintain a high-level of accuracy. Requires in-depth knowledge of all standards outlined by the LifeLink Tissue Bank SOPM and The American Association of Tissue Banks. Requires in-depth knowledge of applicable FDA and state regulations regarding tissue banking. Requires in-depth knowledge of the principles, practices, and tools related to Total Quality Management.
