OVERVIEW
The Quality Assurance (QA) Senior Manager is responsible for ensuring the success of our products by overseeing and managing the efforts of assigned QA staff to validate the effective execution and completion of our QA department charter. The Quality Assurance (QA) Senior Manager will: The QA Senior Manager is expected to define and organize a high level of product testing and verification through the delivery of top level Quality Assurance services. The QA Senior Manager is expected to keep salaries aligned by grade level (band). The QA Senior Manager is expected to review all positions and PDs to ensure that they align with QA Manager expectations. The QA Senior Manager is empowered to make changes to the PD in order to keep all PDs current and in alignment with ISO. The QA Senior Manager is also empowered to do constant Salary.com and xTend Searches to ensure QA analysts fall appropriately within their band. The QA Senior Manager is responsible to ensure that updates are made to the QA Processes and Procedures document routinely. The document should be kept current with new software being utilized and new processes being adopted. Our primary expectation is for a consistent Quality Assurance process to be adhered to for our products. This means QA issue reporting formatted in a consistent manner while coordinating with our Product Line Manager’s priorities regarding testing and correction of issues. The QA Senior Manager will be expected to manage and coordinate with assigned staff to work with our Technical Support department and Product Line (PL) managers regarding correction of issues. The Quality Assurance Senior Manager will supply the QA Director and QA Vice President metrics associated to the testing efforts of the entire quality assurance team.
RESPONSIBILITIES

CRITICAL ELEMENTS
Responsible for Quality Assurance staffing and providing QA Management with staffing needs as required Responsible for managing/overseeing day-to-day activities and monitoring of work performance of assigned staff Responsible for annual and/or initial 30-60-90-day reviews of performance appraisals for assigned staff and reporting of same to HR department and immediate supervisor Responsible for development and management of testing standards for products and with Partner companies. Responsible to coordinate mentoring of assigned personnel to ensure that staff members are trained to have the necessary knowledge to troubleshoot issues for assigned Product Lines. Responsible for managing verification of product functionality Oversee development/maintenance of testing ‘script’ procedures detailing program functionality for assigned product lines. Oversee that program modifications made by the developers execute as required and that all other program functionality still executes correctly. Oversee preparation/submittal of help desk (Supportworks) tickets detailing issues found during execution of QA testing procedures or referred to the QA department via other DSS departments. Interface with DSS clients Oversee and manage coordination with customers to provide any assistance required for testing of products. Oversee coordination of product/project status conference calls with user/test/management groups to review status of issues/enhancements regarding products. Maintain working relationships with DSS departments Oversee/coordinate meetings with product/project management, developers or customer support regarding status of issues/enhancements. Oversee the process, with product/project management, developers, technical support and/or trainers, to verify that help desk tickets have been accurately and correctly rectified. Oversee/coordinate in-house review of product line updates/enhancements with other DSS departments such as Sales, Training, Customer support etc. Attend Internal Core Team Meetings as appropriate.
NON-CRITICAL ELEMENTS
Responsible for providing various managerial reports and updates Provide various management reports as requested in a timely manner Review employee expense reports. Provide weekly status reports to immediate supervisor detailing work performed/progress. Track and report sick/vacation leave requests for assigned staff members Attend weekly manager meetings, prepare report of QA status and review with DSS Management. Responsible for participating in Core Team meetings and discussions as required. Responsible for overseeing updating of DSS and third-party software on assigned staff machines. Responsible to see that any needs of assigned staff are met regarding any required software, hardware, supplies and/or training are provided. Coordinate salary increases/performance reviews for assigned personnel with immediate supervisor The preceding functions are examples of the work performed by employees assigned to this job classification. COMPENSATION
: Salary at DSS, Inc. is determined by various factors, including but not limited to the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $160,000.00 to $190,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of DSS, Inc. total compensation package for employees.
SECURITY AND PRIVACY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Individuals working for DSS will be subject to security and privacy requirements as explained in HIPAA, FedRAMP, and
NIST 800-53.
Additionally, they are required to undergo specific FedRAMP training to ensure compliance with all associated controls and responsibilities in the day-to-day performance of their duties. Individuals working in departments that are considered to be in the high-risk category will be required to undergo advanced training based on their role and level of access. Individuals with access to modify data and the configuration baseline will require further training.
REQUIREMENTS
Previous experience in a Quality Assurance environment managing and/or testing PC based products in an organized environment Previous experience in managing personnel Use of all Microsoft Office Products Operation of general office equipment (fax, phone, copier, etc.) Possess analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to work with other departments and managers within the workplace Excellent oral and written communication Ability to work effectively, while maintaining accuracy and sensitivity, under tight timelines and schedules Ability to be an independent, self-motivated, proactive, results-oriented individual Ability to define and organize a high level of product testing and verification via delivery of Quality Assurance services. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRMENTS
Minimum of Three (3) years’ experience in a capacity where you have clearly demonstrated the duties included under the Critical and Non-Critical job elements section of your PD. Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent combinations of work experience andor education will be considered.
