Food and Beverage Quality Assurance Supervisor Job Description We are seeking a highly skilled Food Safety Quality Supervisor to oversee the performance, development, and growth of FSQ technicians. This role involves executing FSQ competency training programs, tracking performance metrics, and leading investigations and continuous improvement initiatives. The successful candidate will support the application of Quality Engineering methods to enhance FSQ processes and supervise compliance with FDA, USDA, and other regulations. This role offers a pathway to transition into a managerial position within 2-3 years. Responsibilities Supervise the performance, development, and growth of FSQ technicians. Execute FSQ competency training programs within the plant. Assist in formulating and maintaining quality assurance objectives. Track FSQ and Sanitation performance metrics and lead related investigations and CI initiatives. Support and lead the application of Quality Engineering methods in FSQ. Lead testing and positive release processes for finished products. Supervise compliance with FDA regulations, including 21 CFR Part 120 and 21 CFR Part 117. Coordinate routines to ensure the availability of supplies, equipment maintenance, and resources for analytical and microbiology laboratories. Supervise competency development and effectiveness of personnel. Validate, verify, and correct CIP events for all CIP circuits and COP. Validate sanitizing processes for thermal processes and fillers. Drive attainment of Master Sanitation Schedules for the facility. Coordinate sanitation record review routines. Lead
HACCP & PRP
team and act as SQF practitioner. Supervise FSQ department activities related to positive release, deviations, holds, and corrective actions for ingredients and packaging materials. Essential Skills Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Chemistry, Biology, Microbiology, or a related science-based field. 5 years of supervision or leadership experience in FSQ within food or beverage manufacturing. Extensive FSQ or Production experience in food or beverage manufacturing may be considered in lieu of a degree. Experience with the execution of Food Safety Plans and compliance with 21 CFR Part 117. Certification and experience in Juice HACCP and 21 CFR Part 120. Experience in Sanitation and Pathogen Environmental Monitoring. PCQI certification and experience. Work Environment This role will involve working in both laboratory and manufacturing environments. You will be expected to ensure the optimal operation of analytical and microbiology laboratories, and adhere to safety and quality standards.
