Quality Supervisor 5.0 5.0 out of 5 stars Plain Dealing, LA 71064 We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Quality Supervisor to oversee and ensure quality standards across all aspects of sawmill production. This role is critical in maintaining product consistency, meeting customer specifications, and supporting safety and compliance within our operation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and inspect lumber production processes to ensure adherence to quality standards, grading specifications, and customer requirements.
- Lead and coach quality control personnel in daily inspections, documentation, and best practices.
- Work closely with production teams to identify quality issues and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain and update quality assurance documentation, including inspection reports, non-conformance logs, and corrective action plans.
- Conduct internal audits and prepare for external audits and customer visits.
- Train employees on quality standards and procedures, promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with maintenance and operations teams to minimize equipment-related quality issues.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant safety, environmental, and industry regulations.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in a related field is a plus.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in quality control or supervisory role within a manufacturing or sawmill environment.
- Knowledge of lumber grades, industry standards, and quality assurance systems (e.g., ISO, Lean, Six Sigma).
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient with inspection tools and Microsoft Office Suite; experience with quality management systems (QMS) is an asset.
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, including standing, walking, and lifting.
