Bath, ME 04572 The manager is responsible for hands-on implementation and administrative maintenance of QA/QC and FS as well as Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). This position is responsible for making sure that the manufacturing plant meets all food safety and worker safety standards. They ensure that all products that are produced meet customer requirements, Gagne Foods quality standards and regulatory requirements. In this role, they actively manage the sanitation department, including training, oversight and performance evaluation. This person is responsible for managing an effective process control program that encompasses safety training and updates, allergen program, sanitation training and environmental monitoring programs. The ability to motivate staff to maximize performance will be a key to their success. Reports to the CEO/President. Essential Job Functions Responsible for developing, implementing and assessing effectiveness and the compliance of
QA/QC/FS/OSHA
staff training Actively responsible for the company’s sanitation program and overall cleanliness of the plant, including waste management Manages and motivates staff to maximize performance and to understand their part in the success of the business Provides hands-on training, oversight and performance evaluations for staff Models for others, all Food Safety guidelines, such as, but not limited to: Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s), Allergen Program, Quality, Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP), Sanitation Works closely and collaboratively with Plant Manager, Production Manager and Production Office Manager to ensure rigorous compliance with QA/QC and OSHA standards Responsible for reporting food safety, quality and safety issues to a staff member’s immediate supervisor or to senior management and helps initiate corrective action Understands and ensures compliance of Gagne Foods Safe Quality Food (SQF) program and compliance with related policies and procedures Keeps current on changing pertinent industry landscape and ensure compliance and continuous improvement. Reads, analyzes, and interprets pertinent industry food quality/safety and workplace safety periodicals, professional journals and government regulations as they relate to this position. Provide a summary and overview to senior management of changes that affect/improve current Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s). Creates reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals as business needs arise Educate staff about Organic compliance Specific Job Requirements Must be HACCP Certified Creates, implements, records and analyzes QA/QC/FS and OSHA training for production staff and keeps training logs current Responsible for training cleaning and sanitation staff. Ensures that only trained staff handle detergents and sanitizers and follow detailed SSOP’s. Reviews pre-operational hygiene inspection for completeness Ensures cleaning and sanitation is performed after scheduled and unscheduled repairs With the Plant Manager and/or Production Manager, identifies potential cleaning, sanitizing issues post production
