Lead a team that consists of a Quality Supervisor, Quality Control Technicians, a Document Control Specialist, and a QA Coordinator. Oversee, monitor, and coordinate the Quality team’s activities, giving importance to individual members and team’s achievement of established goals. Responsible for the quality process including critical process characteristics, standards, audits, and complaint resolutions. Ensure team goals are aligned with and representative of the company’s directive.
Education :
Bachelor’s Degree (BS) in Food Science, Engineering, Life Sciences, or another similar field.
Experience :
Five (5) years of experience in quality and/or regulatory leadership capacity in a food manufacturing setting. Experience in food safety/quality programs, including but not limited to ISO 9001, HACCP, GMPs, SPC, as well as exposure to a Continuous Improvement program (Six Sigma, TQM, Kaizen etc.)
Responsibilities:
Implement, execute and promote food safety of our products through the use of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s), performance to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s), Security Measures, Housekeeping, Hazard Analysis & Critical Control Point (HACCP), all quality, regulatory, environmental, safety and health guidelines and regulations. These standards are used in all daily activities to ensure the products safety and quality is in compliance. Ensure compliance of the manufacturing processes to conform and comply to FDA cGMP (21CFR Part 110), ISO 9001, EXCiPACT, and BRC standards. Direct quality program planning and coordination to ensure product and quality systems’ meet customer specifications. Overall responsibility of the lab management. Support the QA/QC Supervisor in planning and scheduling laboratory coverage and timecard approvals. Provide ongoing developmental and annual training to the quality team and peers in quality techniques and tools to ensure product requirements are consistently met and to grow their knowledge and experience as it relates to troubleshooting and problem solving of instrumentation and test methods. Ensure a safe working environment for all quality employees. Communicate facility quality performance through verbal, documented and meeting formats to other members of management and / or operations and warehouse staff. Coordinate and conduct development, maintenance, and validation of test methods. Assist with the development, update and maintenance of product specifications and ensures that test methods are developed in support of new and changing products. Provide support to the engineering and technology team and other departments for new product developments and process improvements. Maintain Lab QMS System (LX-400) databases. Research, propose, purchase, and set-up of new instrumentation within budgeted costs and timeframes. Propose, write, and/or review quality control Standard Operating Procedures. Perform statistical analysis of test results for internal trending. Provide back-up support for the QA and QC Coordinators and Chemical Analysts as needed. Collaborate with various departments to provide project leadership as it pertains to cost savings, quality improvement, identifying and reducing/eliminating chronic sources of customer complaints, raw material quality issues, waste/scrap, improve production inefficiencies, service improvements, and/or new product development utilizing Lean Six Sigma methodologies. Collaborate with plant leadership team to meet and provide input on projects and collaborate with other departments in R D, Product Management, etc. to ensure outcomes of projects meet required quality standards.
