Quality Assurance Supervisor Job Description The Quality Assurance Supervisor provides leadership and daily oversight to quality control leads and technicians, ensuring accurate, timely, and well-documented analyses are delivered to both internal and external stakeholders. The role involves maintaining daily product compliance with internal standards and customer expectations. Responsibilities Monitor plant operations to ensure adherence to quality and food safety programs, including Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), sanitation audits, HACCP protocols, and product quality checks in alignment with company policies and SQF Code requirements. Identify and report food safety and quality deviations, collaborating with relevant teams to develop and implement corrective actions. Communicate nonconforming results to internal departments such as operations, purchasing, and planning, as well as to suppliers when necessary. Make informed decisions regarding the acceptance or rejection of nonconforming products. Oversee microbiological and chemical proficiency testing programs within internal and external laboratories, ensuring satisfactory performance. Apply Statistical Process Control (SPC) and other analytical tools to enhance quality assurance processes. Generate and distribute reports analyzing QA, food safety, and microbiological data trends for raw materials and finished goods. Provide actionable recommendations to management when issues are identified. Report all food safety and quality concerns to authorized personnel and assist in executing corrective measures. Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities within the QA function and recommending changes to enhance KPI performance. The supervisor is expected to be on the production floor around 30% of the day to support quality initiatives, with the remaining 70% of time spent in office settings or conducting basic lab checks. The plant operates four 10-hour shifts, with a schedule of Monday to Thursday, from 6 AM to 4:30 PM.
