Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY

The Quality Manager plays a critical role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality products by supporting the operations team and driving continuous improvement initiatives. This position is actively involved in New Product Integration and the enhancement of existing quality standards, with an emphasis on implementing and maintaining IATF 16949 and

ISO 9001

compliance. The role requires close collaboration with manufacturing, design, engineering, and supply chain teams to uphold and improve quality protocols. This position is located in Greensboro, NC. Automotive manufacturing experience is strongly , as this role will focus on quality processes, product reliability, and regulatory compliance in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key responsibilities include:

Identifying and implementing quality improvement initiatives. Establishing and executing inspection, testing, and evaluation methods to ensure process reliability. Ensuring adherence to IATF 16949 and

ISO 9001

quality standards. Analyzing and summarizing quality data to drive informed decision-making.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Quality Planning & Compliance:

Review product designs, drawings, and customer specifications to ensure compliance with quality requirements through Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP). Develop and maintain PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plans, and other required documentation.

Process Auditing & Control:

Conduct audits of operator processes against Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and implement necessary process controls. Oversee design changes and approve Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) to maintain quality consistency.

Customer Complaints & Root Cause Analysis:

Investigate and review customer complaints, ensuring root cause analyses are thorough and corrective/preventive actions are implemented effectively.

Testing & Inspection:

Interpret test results and compare them to established specifications, ensuring results are communicated promptly to production. Develop statistically sound sampling plans and perform data-driven analysis to enhance quality control.

Quality Documentation & Product Release:

Review and create Certificates of Acceptance (CoA) for customer submission and final product release. Oversee the disposition of non-conforming products and drive corrective action plans.

Supplier & Inbound Material Quality:

Enhance incoming part inspection processes to ensure supplier quality. Review and approve Certificates of Acceptance (CoA) for raw materials in a timely manner.

Training & Continuous Improvement:

Assist in developing and conducting quality training programs for both new and existing employees. Analyze manufacturing trends, complaints, and defects to identify opportunities for continuous improvement. Maintain calibration systems for measuring equipment.

Final Product Inspection & Packaging Audits:

Perform random packing audits to assess associate knowledge and compliance with quality standards. Verify box counts, defective parts, labeling accuracy, and conformance to packing specifications.

Drive Continuous Improvement:

Implement and sustain a culture of continuous improvement using Lean, Six Sigma, and problem-solving methodologies to reduce defects and enhance quality performance.

OTHER FUNCTIONS

Perform other duties as assigned by management. Management reserves the right to modify job responsibilities as needed.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field ( but not required). Minimum of 1 year of relevant quality engineering experience in manufacturing. Automotive manufacturing experience strongly . Experience with ISO 9001 and

IATF 16949

(strongly ). Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and statistical analysis tools.
