Manage department employees, including performance, evaluations, training, development, mentoring, work assignments, problem resolutions, hiring, and terminations in accordance with HR policies. Support the Plant Manager in the continual improvement of processes. Provide regular communication to the Quality Manager. Work with Production leadership to ensure that Production priorities are understood and met so that the quality of the product is not compromised. Partner with Engineering and Operations to define critical/control specifications and conduct part measurement to ensure compliance with tolerances. Lead development and initiation of standards and methods for inspection, testing, and evaluation of internally produced parts and assemblies. Support corporate-level projects identified by the Quality Manager. Manage/Perform First Piece Inspections. Provide quality metrics, as requested. Oversee the functioning and maintenance of departmental equipment, measurement instruments, and infrastructure to ensure product and process quality is achieved. Communicate and demonstrate company policies and values to others in the organization. Ensure cross-departmental communication is accurate and effective. Demonstrated leadership skills to motivate teams to obtain high performance levels to accomplish goals. Knowledge of basic measurement equipment. e.g., calipers, micrometers, scales. Advanced computer and writing skills. Skilled in the use of Word and Excel. Ability to read, understand, and explain schematics, blueprints, and/or technical manuals. Effective communication skills. Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Science, or another related field.
