Job Summary:

The Manager, Quality position is responsible formanaging Quality Assurance at the plant level for multi-statedistribution. This position must ensure that the company producessafe products of the highest and most consistent quality byoverseeing various branded and private label production. Thisposition will aid in the assessment of operations and manage theimplementation of corporate quality assurance policies and programsat the plant level.

Essential Job Duties:

Lead implementation ofthe Food Safety Modernization Act at plant Implement and ensureconformance to corporate quality assurance programs to preventbeverage quality or safety issues at manufacturing facilities,which may include an offsite storage facility. Monitor finishedproduct quality results to ensure conformance to corporate andcustomer specifications Supervise the quality team Monitor spendingwithin the department to operate within budget Develop skills ofdirect reports and plant employees. Ensure that plant is audit

  • ready at all times.

Provide support for all customer,regulatory and third party audits. Identify and lead ProcessImprovement initiatives. Develop a rapport with Plant and QAmanagers at all company locations. Develop and document a completeHACCP and QACCP plan for plant. Develop and maintain a specific

QA/QC SOP

manual for plant Troubleshoot problems associated withfinished product production in assigned facilities; investigateroot cause, develop and implement corrective actions, and preventreoccurrence through the development of long-term solutionsImplement appropriate controls, sample plans, hold/release systemmodifications, code rotation, batching and processing controls, andother production systems where problems might exist. Coordinate QAefforts with R D and vice versa. Monitor effectiveness ofintegrated pest management system Work with R D to ensure thatmanufacturing and raw material specifications exist and are currentand enforced. Stay current with all key industry, regulatory andcertifying agency guidelines. Oversee management of change at plantManage regulatory components within assigned region to includeprocess filings, water quality testing, unannounced inspections,requirements associated with label compliance and net weight, etcParticipate in monthly financial calls

Essential Skills:

Understandfinancial information so it can be communicated to all parts of theorganization. Ability to learn and use software programs such asPresage, Margin Miner and JDE to maintain and evaluate qualitydata. Positive can do attitude person. Must be flexible to adapt tochanges in workload. Meets deadlines and maintain a high level ofaccuracy and confidentiality in a fast-paced teamwork environment.

Good interpersonal oral and written communication skills.

Experience in sanitation with ability to develop cleaningprocedures based on risk and data. Ability to analyze financialstatements and company metrics as well as water capital projectsand specifications. Ability to work independently andsimultaneously on multiple projects. Knowledge of administrativeand clerical procedure and systems such as word processing,managing files and records, designing forms, and other officeprocedures and terminology. Knowledge of the structure of theEnglish language including reading, writing, and oral comprehensionand oral and written expression. Knowledge of principles andprocesses for providing customer service. This includes customerneeds assessment, meeting quality standards for services,evaluation of customer satisfaction, and actively looking for waysto help people. Knowledge of raw materials, production process,quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing theeffective manufacture and distribution of goods. Ability toconsider the relative costs and benefits of potential actions tochoose the most appropriate one. Ability to use logic and reasoningto identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solution,conclusions or approaches to problems. Knowledge of HACCP, FSMA andGFSI Ability to remain current on changes to industry andregulatory standards. Ability to identify complex problems andreviewing related information to develop and evaluate options andimplement solutions.
