Description Job Summary:
The RN, Perioperative QA Coordinator will report to the Director
- Patient Safety, Quality and Accreditation.
The RN, Perioperative QA Coordinator will assist with routine regulatory compliance auditing, coordinate the Surgical Service Division Quality program. The RN, Perioperative QA Coordinator, Interprets and implements quality assurance standards in the perioperative setting to ensure quality patient care. Reviews quality assurance standards, and audits existing policies and procedures to ensure they meet evidence-based best practice. Conducts audits to evaluate effectiveness patient safety & quality improvement initiatives as well as regulatory requirements. The QA Coordinator will co-chair the surgical quality committee, ensuring use of data driven strategies for quality improvement. Employee will ensure meeting minutes are distributed and reviewed by necessary parties for approval and/or discussion. This position will work in conjunction with the Surgical Division Leadership to maintain the highest standard of patient care.
Education:
Required:
Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing Bachelor’s degree in nursing or health related field
Preferred:
Master’s degree in nursing or health related field.
Experience:
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
5 years of OR experience 2 years of leadership/process auditing experience Strong listening, written and verbal communication skills Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, spreadsheet/graphics, presentation Working knowledge of regulatory guidelines to ensure compliance across the Surgical Services Division Project management skills Assertive, resourceful, motivated Willingness to ask questions and take initiative without direction Demonstrates ability to prioritize, organize, and complete daily work both independently and with team members Demonstrates creative problem-solving with a focus on teamwork and collaboration Extraordinary attention to detail Ability and versatility to manage changing priorities Commitment to excellence, high standards of integrity, professionalism, and trustworthiness is required Demonstrates positive attitude Demonstrates ability to interact well and collaborate with other EHS groups (such as Leadership, Medical Staff, Compliance, Legal, Quality and Human Resources Departments) Working knowledge of

Coordinates and implements regulatory assessment and review activities across EHS Continually monitors progress toward identified goals and objectives to support the continual accreditation compliance of EHS Implements, and evaluates methods for collecting and analyzing data; collaborates with data abstractors and/or directly manages platforms for collecting, maintaining and reporting data Compiles comprehensive statistical and narrative data; assists with the preparation of official assessment reports to summarize findings Oversight of the Surgical Services Quality portfolio related to compliance and/or regulatory standards Ensure compliance with the Document Control Standards Coordinate and organize committee meetings related to Quality/Regulatory discussions, including documenting, maintaining & disseminating meeting minutes to the appropriate parties Continuous monitoring of Surgical Services Corrective Action Plans and Internal Audit Program plans in compliance with required
