Job Description
Precast Quality Manager 3.3 3.3 out of 5 stars Loudon, TN 37774 The Quality Manager is responsible for consistent delivery of high-quality precast concrete products and services to customers. Oversees product inspections and site quality team to ensure compliance with company standards and customer specifications and translates customer quality concerns to drive internal corrective actions and continual improvement. Responsible for minimizing defects through promotion of prevention rather than detection. Quality Manager is responsible for the site calibration program, nonconformance documentation, performance of manufacturing audits in the production areas, document control activities, hosting site management reviews, tracking of CoPQ, and performing of intercompany and supplier quality audits. Supervises quality control teams at multiple precast concrete Oversite of product inspection programs to ensure specified criteria and test methods are being followed. Ability to collaboratively determine NCM causes and possible actions with production and/or quality team. Responsible for ensuring rejection of product when requirements are not met. Quality record keeping and supporting management in maintaining quality certifications (NPCA, State DOT). Oversee the Management of calibration programs for inspection equipment Responsible for oversight of manufacturing audit program in the production areas Responsible for the oversight of document control program, including the uploading and maintenance of documents Responsible for representing L.B. Foster during site audits and documenting the outcomes of site audits. Must work with site management team and applicable personnel to properly investigate findings and determine corrective actions in a timely manner Handling of customer complaints through proper documentation, investigations, and leading of corrective actions Tracking of site COPQ$ Responsible for scheduling and holding site Management Reviews Responsible for reviewing and understanding customer specification/code requirements Performing intercompany internal audits as required Performing supply site visits/audits as needed Responsible for collaborating with off-site intercompany personnel on quality issues Responsible for oversight of and participation in plant quality control inspection and testing activities. Other duties as required. Experience, Education, & License Requirements 5+ years’ experience in Quality role required with 3 years in Quality Leadership role Internal auditing experience and must obtain formal training within first 6 months Precast experience required, ACI Field, Strength & Aggregate certifications, NPCA Level II certification, PCI Level I and II certification preferred Experience working with state DOT certification programs. Must complete LBF General Quality Awareness Training, Calibration Training, NCR/RCA Training, Manufacturing Process Audit Training, Document Control Training, Audits Module Training, Managerial Training, Quality Standard training (i.e. ISO9001), Management Review Training, LBF Auditor training Skills & Abilities Knowledgeable in applicable Quality standards (i.e.
NPCA,PCI, ISO9001
) Knowledgeable in use of various inspection gages and practices Ability to read and interpret ASTM standards where applicable Ability to read drawings and prints Ability to understand DOT / Code requirements where applicable Ability to work in a manufacturing environment involving heavy machinery and equipment Ability to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
