Barrett Firearms is seeking a dynamic Business Systems Manager to lead the ongoing development and enhancement of our Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring alignment with
ISO 9001
2015, ATF, and ITAR regulations. This pivotal role supports the innovation and integrity behind Barrett’s world-class firearms, ammunition, and accessories. As the steward of quality excellence, you will champion continuous improvement across our operations. From designing impactful ISO training programs to leading internal audits and driving supplier performance, you will serve as a key influencer across all departments. This role also leads the internal audit team and manages a QMS Engineer/Clerk. Role:
Design and deliver
ISO 9001
training programs to support understanding and implementation across the organization. Plan, schedule, and document internal quality audits and manage external audit readiness and coordination. Lead warranty data analysis, including root cause investigations and implementation of corrective actions. Manage and coordinate supplier audits with Barrett PMs, SQEs, and Buyers. Oversee the Barrett Non-Conformance (BNC) system, driving resolution of non-conformances. Provide support during ICT, compliance, and ATF/ITAR-related audits; ensure audit readiness across departments. Maintain the company’s document control system, ensuring version control and compliance, while also developing and providing training for this system. Collaborate cross-functionally to drive quality improvements and support product training efforts. Provide support and guidance to Barrett’s NDT system. Travel, inclusive of international travel, may be required. All other duties as directed.
About You:
With strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills, you thrive in a fast-paced environment and enjoy working collaboratively. You have a customer-focused approach and a passion for delivering efficient Business Solutions. Associate or bachelor’s degree in quality, Engineering, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience). 10+ years of experience in quality assurance, manufacturing operations, and audit leadership is prefered. Experience in the firearms, defense, aerospace, or automotive manufacturing industry. U.S. military experience, with leadership roles in inspections, quality assurance, and compliance strongly valued. Proven expertise in
ISO 9001
2015 and
IATF 16949
standards, with experience leading full-scale audits and improvement initiatives. Demonstrated success reducing warranty costs through strategic root cause analysis and corrective action implementation.
ISO 9001
2015 Internal or Lead Auditor certification preferred. Must be able to meet requirements for access to firearms and ammunition manufacturing facilities (ATF/ITAR clearance eligible). Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) highly preferred. Maintain valid driver’s license. Maintain eligibility to work with firearms under state and federal guidelines.
