The Quality Manager reports to the Plant Manager and is responsible for administration of the plant Quality Management System (QMS), product release, customer inquiries and complaints, and quality related problem solving.

Principal Accountabilities:

Lead Quality Control Laboratory activities, providing guidance for 6 QC Analysts. Knowledge of test methods related to in-process testing and release of chemical products is a must. Act as

quality management representative ensuring that processes needed for the QMS are established, implemented, and maintained, b) reporting to plant management on the performance of the QMS, and any need for improvement, and c) ensuring the promotion of awareness of customer requirements throughout the plant. Manage product usage decision and release. Recommend disposition of non-conforming product. Perform necessary audits, reviews and other activities necessary to assure quality control of manufacturing related operations. Write and/or maintain plant policies and procedures affecting quality and product safety. Review and approve document and data control procedures. Participate in the new vendor approval process for raw materials and packaging components. Initiate vendor corrective action reports. Investigate customer complaints. Participate in handling of returned goods. Develop plant-wide employee training curriculum in quality , GMP and product safety related topics. Administer the Laboratory Chemical Hygiene Plan. Respond to customer inquiries and audits. Prepare the facility for transition to

Qualifications/Requirements:

Incumbent should have a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Microbiology, Food Science, Quality Management, or Chemical Engineering, or a related field Minimum five years’ experience in a quality control or quality assurance assignment. Minimum of two years’ experience in Supervision in a manufacturing/quality environment. Proven manufacturing knowledge in a chemical environment with hazardous products. Demonstrated leadership success in instilling a culture of Continuous Improvement. Thorough understanding of EPA, national and local regulations, and compliance requirements.
