Full Job Description Job Summary:
The Quality Director leads and manages all aspects of quality assurance and control within a steel manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for developing and implementing quality systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards, customer requirements, and regulatory guidelines. The position oversees inspection processes, drives continuous improvement initiatives, and works closely with production, engineering, and leadership teams to maintain high product standards and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and maintain quality management systems (QMS) in accordance with ISO and other relevant standards. Oversee quality audits, inspections, and testing to ensure material and product conformity. Lead root cause analysis and corrective action efforts for quality issues. Manage quality personnel and coordinate training and development programs. Collaborate with suppliers and customers to address quality concerns and improve satisfaction. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and generate quality reports for leadership review.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, metallurgy, or a related field; advanced degree preferred. Minimum 6-8 years of quality leadership experience in steel or heavy manufacturing. Strong knowledge of ISO 9001, Six Sigma, and lean manufacturing principles.
