DescriptionDuties:

Quality Control Inspection includes inspection stations located throughout operations and finalinspection to ensure customer satisfaction by assuring compliance to standards and preventing defectescapes. The Inspector records the defects noted during inspections for problem solving purposes,communicates results to department leads, performs analysis of data, participates in team problemsolving activities and continuous improvement, and will assist with rework if needed, where time permits.

Reports to Quality Manager any conditions/issues that create the potential for defects, as well asrecurring defects that may indicate process failure. Has the authority to stop production if such acondition is found. Other Quality Personnel duties, as required – this may include, but is not limited to,inputting data, creating charts for posting in the shop, presenting GEMBA board results, 5S, etc. At timesit may also be required to perform warranty duties to assist in resolution of customer claims.

Sustains up to date training in Warranty and Layout and service as the back-up as needed. Additionalduties might be added at the discretion of the quality manager.

Qualifications:
Educational:

High School Diploma or GED.

Experience:

Process experience in welding, painting and/or installation required. Must be able todo re-work; so, passing of a weld test is required. Basic computer experience required. Priorquality experience preferred.

Skills:

Ability to communicate with team members in a calm and professional manor. Ability touse various inspection devices and perform calibrations. Ability to accurately follow proceduresand protocol. Must have an excellent eye for detail and be able to work well under pressure.

Ability to adapt to continuous change with supporting effort. Ability to understand the marketand customer needs.

Other:

Ability to drive trucks including manual transmissions. Must be able to work flexible hours.

Must be able to work overtime on a regular basis. Must be able to work weekends, whenneeded. Must be able to work effectively with production employees to identify issues, havethem corrected and have the root-cause removed. Must be able to squat, climb and stand for a10-hour period.
