Job DescriptionGENERAL RESPONSIBILITIESUnder the direction of the Quality Manager the QA RMA Technician will primarily be responsible for evaluating and reporting on returned orders of finished products. The QA RMA Technician will also serve as a QA Laboratory Technician when necessary, which requires analyzing quality control test results and providing feedback and interpretation to management or production, monitoring performance of quality control systems to ensure effectiveness and efficiency, and communicating quality control information to all relevant organizational departments, outside vendors, or contractors.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND
RESPONSIBILITIESEvaluate and report on returned orders to understand root cause of defective product conditions Inspect fire extinguisher products and systems for leaks, cosmetic defects, and malfunctioning componentsReport findings to customer success team through D365 Coordinate and manage returns to Amerex suppliers when necessary for defective purchased parts Support other Quality Lab Functions as necessaryTesting for incoming inspectionTesting of productionTesting required by Regulatory AgenciesRaw material chemical testingDOT-required testingConduct root cause investigations of returned products and materialsAddress and correct (with assistance from QA Manager/Engineers) issues found in production departmentsStop production if significant product defects are present.
Communicating issues with suppliers/other departments to correct issuesReturn of rejected material to suppliersCommunicate with suppliers any issues that should be corrected/improvedControl runs of trial parts both internally and externallyKeeping Lab documentation current (WI, JSA, FE Performance Testing) Interpret and comply with quality assurance standardsReview data to find opportunities for improvementPerform other duties as assigned.
