Job Description
Quality Inspector – Precision Engineering Birmingham £14.50-£15.50 per hour Mon-Thurs 7am-4pm | Fri 7am-12pm Automotive | Aerospace | CNC | Press Shop An exciting opportunity to join a respected name in precision engineering based in Birmingham. We’re on the lookout for a hands-on Quality Inspector to support production in our client’s fast-paced machine and press shops. You’ll work closely with a small team of quality professionals and play a key role in upholding the high standards their customers in the aerospace and automotive sectors demand.
Key responsibilities:
Inspect parts at First Off, In-Process, and Final Inspection stages Use precision measurement tools (micrometers, verniers, height gauges, shadow graph etc.) Ensure all components meet tight tolerances from technical drawings Conduct internal calibrations on inspection equipment Create and maintain inspection reports, and charts Support production teams to maintain quality standards on the shop floor Participate in internal quality audits in line with
ISO 9001
2015, IATF 16949:2016, and AS 9100:2016 Required skills and
Experience:
Essential:
Calibration experience Experience using measurement tools in a manufacturing environment Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings Basic computer skills (Excel, Word, Gmail, etc.)
Desirable:
Auditing experience Understanding of GD&T tolerances Experience with CMM and/or Keyence (training provided)
