The CMM Programmer will be instrumental in maintaining and improving our quality management system to meet stringent DoD and AS9100D requirements. This position will directly impact the manufacturing quality of critical hardware produced for our Nation’s defense. Primary Responsibilities Develop, write, and optimize CMM inspection programs using Zeiss Calypso software for complex geometric features and tight tolerances. Operate and maintain Zeiss Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) to perform detailed dimensional inspections of precision components. Interpret engineering drawings, CAD models, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) specifications, and quality requirements to ensure accurate inspection methodologies. Generate detailed and accurate AS9102 First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) and other necessary quality documentation in compliance with customer and industry standards. Perform routine and non-routine inspections, troubleshoot CMM programs and equipment, and identify non-conformances. Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to resolve measurement challenges, improve processes, and ensure product conformity. Conduct Gage R&R (Repeatability and Reproducibility) studies and other measurement system analysis (MSA) activities. Maintain metrology equipment calibration records and ensure adherence to calibration schedules. Contribute to the continuous improvement of the Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with AS9100D standards. Provide technical guidance and training to other quality personnel as needed. Requirements & Desired Skills Associate’s degree in a technical field (e.g., Quality Assurance, Manufacturing Technology, Metrology) or equivalent practical experience. Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience as a CMM Programmer/Inspector in the aerospace and defense industry. Proficiency in programming and operating Zeiss CMMs with Calypso software is mandatory. Expert-level understanding and application of GD&T per

ASME Y14.5.

Demonstrated experience in generating and reviewing AS9102 First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs). Solid knowledge of AS9100D Quality Management System requirements. Strong foundation in general metrology principles, including measurement uncertainty, calibration, and measurement system analysis. Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings, specifications, and 3D CAD models. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Strong communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Must be a U.S. Citizen and have the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance. This is full-time salaried position with full benefits offered. Approximately 10% of travel is expected.
