We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Receiving Inspector, Entry-Level to join our Quality Assurance team. This position is responsible for performing visual and dimensional inspections of incoming materials, parts, and products to ensure they conform to purchase order requirements, applicable drawings, specifications, and quality standards. The Receiving Inspector plays a critical role in ensuring only conforming materials enter the production environment, protecting product integrity and customer satisfaction. Responsibilities Perform receiving inspections on incoming materials, components, and hardware using appropriate inspection tools and techniques (e.g., calipers, micrometers, height gages, optical comparators). Verify conformance to specifications, drawings, and purchase order requirements. Read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, work instructions, and supplier documentation. Identify and document non-conformances using the nonconformance reporting system. Coordinates external calibration activities, including scheduling with certified vendors. Review Calibration certificates and ensures all data meets compliance and traceability requirements. Ensure that MRP and calibration systems stay up-to-date with current information and traceability is maintained. Ensure traceability of inspected items by verifying and recording lot codes, certifications, and part numbers. Review supplier documentation, including material certifications, certificates of conformance (CoC), and test reports. Communicate and collaborate with purchasing, engineering, and supplier quality teams when non-conformances or documentation issues are identified. Ensure all inspections are performed in compliance with internal procedures and regulatory/industry standards (e.g., AS9100, ISO 9001). Support audits and continuous improvement activities. Minimum Qualifications & Education Requirements and Desired Skillsets High School Diploma or GED required. Associate degree or technical certificate preferred. Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing). Proficient in the use of hand and bench inspection tools. Strong attention to detail and documentation skills. Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs. and stand for extended periods. Experience with AS9100, NADCAP, or similar quality system standards. Minimum 2 years of experience in mechanical inspection, preferably in aerospace, defense, or manufacturing environments. Familiarity with inspection of electronics, composites, or precision-machined components. Experience working in a cleanroom or controlled environment. Current or prior certification to IPC-A-610, J-STD-001, or similar standards is a plus. Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, CostPoint, Oracle) and quality software systems. U.S. Citizenship with Active Secret Security clearance and ability to maintain the designated security clearance level is required. Physical Description Employees in these positions will work in an assembly, manufacturing, and production environment, as well as in equipment assembly areas using technical and electronic testing equipment, including specialized software. They will collaborate with various personnel in a manufacturing or testing setting, attend meetings, contribute to team efforts, deliver timely results, produce reports, and communicate information effectively. Telework may be included. In specialized laboratory or testing environments, employees will use electronic testing equipment, complex systems, and computer software. The use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, hearing protection, protective footwear, and lab coats may be required. Employees may be responsible for lifting, moving, testing, and assembling equipment of various weights and utilizing a variety of electronic testing tools. About SimTech, Inc.
