QA Auditor 4.0 4.0 out of 5 stars 127 Old Highway 24, Decatur, AL 35601 Turner Industries Group, L.L.C. is seeking a qualified Quality Assurance (QA) Auditor for maintenance work in Decatur, AL. The successful candidate will be part of a team responsible for assisting in implementing the Corporate Quality Program and performing audits to ensure Turner Industries’ compliance with corporate policies, applicable Regulating Codes and Standards, and customer requirements. This position will report to the Corporate QA Manager. The Auditor will be responsible for independent planning, performing, and documenting audits and all associated activities for designated projects and suppliers. The job will involve using audit management skills such as planning and organizing objectivity.
Auditor activities include:
Independently performing inspections and audits of QA programs at local and remote locations in order to monitor processes, practices, procedures, equipment, materials, records, and controls to ensure compliance with corporate policies, applicable Regulating Codes and Standards, and customer requirements. Assessing, evaluating, identifying, and reporting complex processes and activities related to the quality program via document reviews, interviews, and observing activities. Participating in inspections and audits of subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers of products and services. Coordinating audit logistics with site contacts. Preparing audit and surveillance reports to communicate the outcomes of quality activities and audits. Maintaining written and signed records of all audits and inspections, as required. Verifying the achievement of quality and improved performance. Investigating and identifying non-conformance issues and associated corrective actions as a result of the audit and inspection findings. Performing all other related duties as assigned. Following company and client site-specific policies and procedures. Frequent daily and overnight travel to the various audit sites, locally and in various states.
Requirements:
The successful candidate shall possess: A strong background in QA/QC in the Oil and Gas, utility, engineering, and Fabrication/Manufacturing fields A demonstrated knowledge of tools, concepts, quality assurance methodologies, and continuous improvement methods, including strategic planning and project management. A minimum of 5 years of working experience with
ISO 9001
2000, API Q1:2003, or other Quality Management Systems. However, others will be considered. Shall be familiar with common industry standards such as ASME, API, AISC, NACE, AWS, and ANSI. This position requires key competencies in the following: Customer service Teamwork Demonstrated ability with oral and written communications. Ability to follow oral and written instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to effectively communicate in one-on-one and group situations. Data collection, management, and analysis Problem analysis and problem-solving Ability to plan, schedule, and coordinate multiple activities and effectively manage tasks. Attention to detail. Sound judgment and decision-making. A demonstrated ability to use a computer and possess intermediate skills in Microsoft Office software, including Google tools, such as Gmail, Docs, and Sheets. Viable transportation. A current driver’s license.
Additional Requirements:
The successful candidate shall have the ability to: Pass safety and security requirements for Turner Industries and each Client site visited. Complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen and physical. Obtain a TWIC card.
Preferred Qualifications:
Current or recent Lead Auditor Certification in accordance with a recognized national standard. Nuclear Lead Auditor training is a plus. Specialized courses in engineering, industrial, technical, or quality assurance disciplines. Knowledge of the application of nonconformance and deficiency reports for nonconforming or deficient items. Knowledge of the application of corrective actions for conditions adverse to quality.
