Job DescriptionThe Quality Inspector will inspect and test machined, fabricated, or assembled parts or products for defects, wear, and deviations from specifications. The inspector may use precision measuring instruments and complex test equipment. Scope of Responsibilities1st Responsibility

  • Ensuring personal safety and the safety of your team members.

Assists supervisors and managers in maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.

Wear appropriate PPE, including fall protection, respiratory protection, hearing protection, foot, hand, head, and eye protection.

Responsible for the cleanliness of the assigned work area and maintaining a safe and clean work environment.

Proactively promote the McWane Way principles.

Discard or reject products, materials, and equipment not meeting specifications.

Analyze and interpret blueprints, data, manuals, and other materials to determine specifications, inspection and testing procedures, adjustment and certification methods, formulas, and measuring instruments required.

Inspect, test, or measure materials, products, installations, and work for conformance to specifications.

Notify supervisors and other personnel of production problems, and assist in identifying and correcting these problems.

Discuss inspection results with those responsible for products, and recommend necessary corrective actions.

Record inspection or test data, such as weights, temperatures, grades, and quantities inspected.

Mark items with details such as acceptance or rejection status.

Observe and monitor production operations and equipment to ensure conformance to specifications and make or order necessary process or assembly adjustments.

Measure dimensions of products to verify conformance to specifications, using measuring instruments such as rulers, calipers, gauges, or micrometers.

Analyze test data and make computations as necessary to determine test results.

Ability to write routine memos and correspondence. Work EnvironmentWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and use hands to hold, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee is required to communicate both verbally and written in English.

Occasionally required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Must be able to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Must be able to meet and adhere to physical requirements as well as adhere to wearing the appropriate PPE (steel-toed boots, safety glasses, and hearing protection)Must be able to work in dust and fumes. Will be required to work overtime and extended hours depending on customer and company demands.

Must be able to work outside in all types of weather conditions and tolerate being exposed to loud noises.

Must have some knowledge of industrial tools, their uses, and maintenance.

Must be able to meet and adhere to physical requirements as well as wear the appropriate PPE (steel-toed boots, safety glasses, hearing protection, and mask).Will be required to work in the following conditions: heat, cold, noise, and vibration.

Must be able to work in dust and fumes.

Must have the ability to operate a forklift and overhead crane.

Will be required to work overtime and extended hours depending on customer and company demands.

Must be able to work outside in all types of weather conditions and tolerate being exposed to loud noises.
