This position supports continuous improvement efforts by maintaining accurate documentation, investigating defects, and collaborating across departments to uphold safety and compliance standards.
Responsibilities:
Conduct inspections, grading, and sorting of incoming materials and finished products Perform plant audits and verify product conformance with specifications Measure cast, extruded, rolled, and machined products Operate, calibrate, and maintain Optical Emissions Spectrometers Maintain inspection logs and generate non-conformance reports Monitor and manage the calibration system for measurement tools Investigate defective products and assist with corrective actions Conduct Rockwell Hardness Testing as required Generate Certificates of Analysis and Conformance Prepare products for shipment, especially for Level III and Level IV orders Conduct quality system audits and participate in measurement studies Maintain and audit 6S program within the QC lab Read and interpret government and industry specifications and engineering drawings Perform visual and dimensional inspections of third-party components Maintain controlled documents and test records Communicate quality trends to supervisors or management Be available to assist other departments as needed Adhere to and promote safety and environmental compliance standards 1st and 2nd shift available
Qualifications:
Minimum two years of experience in the lead or metal industry Minimum two years of experience operating/programming a portable measuring arm (preferably PolyWorks) Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications Ability to read and interpret customer/government specifications and engineering drawings Strong communication skills, both oral and written Strong math, measurement, and computer skills Capable of reading and interpreting machined parts from drawings and 3D CAD Demonstrated problem-solving ability Ability to stand, walk, and climb stairs for extended periods Ability to lift objects up to 50 pounds and wear PPE as required
Desired Qualifications:
Forklift training and certification Crane operation certification Experience with Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) Familiarity with CAM and CAD software Experience using calipers, micrometers, and quality control software Focused on continuous improvement and process optimization
