OMCO operates six manufacturing facilities across four states, including our 100,000 sq. ft. manufacturing, office, and warehouse facility in Talladega, AL. OMCO Fabrication is a trusted supplier to equipment manufacturers throughout the Southeast, specializing in fabricated weldments. Position Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Certified Weld Inspector to join our Quality team. This role is responsible for conducting in-process and final inspections of metal fabrications and roll-formed parts to ensure compliance with customer specifications and industry standards. Inspections may cover all aspects of production, from incoming materials to final product approval.

Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct in-process and final inspections for dimensional accuracy, weld quality, paint finish, and other specifications per drawings to identify nonconformances.
- Ensure welds comply with applicable standards, codes and regulations.
- Identify nonconformances and document inspections, reporting findings to supervision as needed.
- Assist production employees by clarifying specifications and addressing quality-related questions.
- Support in-house calibration of measuring instruments.
- Maintain and update customer drawing files.
- Assist with
ISO 9001
compliance and audits.
- Create, edit, and complete quality documentation.
- Participate in customer and vendor visits as required.
- Aid in evaluating and confirming all quality procedures are followed and implemented.
Qualifications:
- Certified Weld Inspector (CWI) certification is highly preferred.
- Strong ability to assess weld quality and recommend corrective actions for defects such as undercut, porosity, incomplete fusion, cold welds, etc.
- Knowledge of weld symbols and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing); proficiency is required or must be obtained upon hire.
- Proficiency in using measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, tape measures, squares, and protractors.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
- Strong mathematical skills, including basic geometry.
- Experience working with both standard and metric measurement systems.
- Familiarity with
ISO 9001
quality management systems.
