Job summary:

Collaboration in the safeguarding and improvement of the quality management system and specified controlled conditions for series production. Communication with internal and external parties in all matters of product development and production/process quality.

Tasks:

Ensure that non-conforming material is controlled and segregated and that management and appropriate departments are notified for disposition. Evaluate parts at the start, middle, and end of production runs. Guide production teams to properly disposition parts as good for use needs repair or scrap. Document & communicate any identified defects. Escalate concerns that are not being properly resolved in your immediate work area. Comprehend current production quality standards and determine if ongoing production meets those standards. Communicate emerging and trending quality issues to prevent negative impacts on the plant. Construct and maintain strong relationships with members of all nearby teams. Be safety certified to perform XRF Gun tests on 6014 and 6016 plates to validate production lines and confirm ongoing changes. Be trained to complete Water Break testing and reporting. Do appropriate white glove testing and communicate any non-conformities to the Management chain. Learn the escalation plan and procedure for Non-Conforming parts to be communicated. Have a sense of urgency when handling customer complaints and non-conformities. Any other tasks directed by your Manager.

Ability to identify and differentiate between several defect types. Ability to determine the severity of a defect and the required response. Ability to perform detailed daily record keeping and reporting of quality issues that will be referenced by technicians, engineers, and management. Ability to determine potential countermeasure solutions against failed inspections. Ability to communicate new defect information to team leadership and counterparts. Ability to help establish the first line of defense for immediate containment activities. Ability to build solid relationships with several teams in multiple departments. Ability to be personable and effective in verbal and written communication. Ability to apply critical thinking skillset to engage and troubleshoot new quality issues. Ability to leverage general automotive surfacing knowledge. Experience in an automotive production or manufacturing quality assurance environment. Required education, work experience, knowledge, and PC skills:

Minimum:

High School Diploma with automotive Quality experience. Completed vocational training or comparable professional experience with many years of Experience in quality control Knowledge of statistics and automotive Core Tools. Time Management.
