The Quality Control Specialist

HDGL &FL

will be responsible for the development, implementation & maintenance of Safety and Training protocols. Furthermore, the Quality Control Specialist

HDGL &FL

will be responsible for quality management and process analysis & optimization to meet the business needs of AM/NS Calvert.

The Basics:

High school diploma or GED 2+ years of experience working in a manufacturing environment Demonstrated knowledge of product defects and effects on final product Demonstrate ability to inspect & interpret defects / classifications Knowledge of customer processes including forming and stamping Strong knowledge of quality systems and processes Training/presentation skills Experience/proficiency in working directly with customers Basic understanding of upstream steelmaking processes Software proficiency with SQL (or other query formats), statistical tools, and data analysis Practical experience working in steel production Basic knowledge of Automotive products and quality standards Advanced experience with computers and ability to learn new programs

The Extras:

Bachelor’s Degree in Metallurgy, Materials Science, Industrial, or Chemical Engineering Combination of post-secondary education and related experience SAP knowledge

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

Participate in HDGL Daily News meetings – acting as the lead Quality resource Implement and uphold dispositioning practices that ensure consistency throughout the HDGL Business Unit. Participate in coaching Inspectors to these standards Monitor & maintain a targeted ‘Coil Velocity’ through our quality dispositioning process Maintain visibility of Customer processing capabilities & potential reprocessing that can be done at the OP Maintain/Modify quality dispositioning criteria for HDGL physical & automated inspection systems Review ST3 for Inventory routed to HDGL for material that does not conform with Operational Capabilities Coordinate the quarantine of product with potential quality concerns & alert all relevant parties Work with Operations Core Teams to implement strategies for Quality Excursion mitigation. Focusing on defect identification & judicious resolution Participate in HDGL Monthly Quality Review meetings – reviewing KPI performance, critical customer concerns & continuous improvement initiatives. Ensure the core team is allocating their limited resources to the appropriate areas Participate in the Customer Corrective Actions Process (CFCA) – aid in the development/completion of corrective actions Actively Participate in the HDGL Safety Program, meeting outlined requirements for: Layered Audits, Safety Meetings, Housekeeping Inspections & Shop Floor Audits Fulfills the commitment to ensure a safe and healthy work environment Fulfills the responsibilities required to achieve the Quality Commitment
