POSITION SUMMARY
This position will be responsible to perform inspections and other quality assurance functions in support of manufacturing.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Perform inspections/verifications on product, components, and processes based upon specified requirements. Use of inspection equipment from basic to complex (e.g. CMM). These include in-process, first piece/article, and final inspections.
Perform receiving inspection on raw materials, components and supplier receipts.
Implement and maintain systems that are related to the
AS & ISO
Quality Management System. Maintain records concerning supplier performance both present and historically.
Interface with purchasing on issues related to approved sources.
Document, file and identify raw material and associated certifications.
Maintain appropriate verification documents based on inspection data/duties performed.
Gather quality data and present the results in an organized manner.
Process non-conformances. Interface with other individuals on issues related to quality. Aid operators in understanding and interpreting quality specifications and procedures. Aid the Quality Manager on issues related to product performance, supplier performance or system performance.
Perform and document inspections in accordance with customer requirements.
Present jobs for source inspection. Customer and supplier interface (phone, e-mail and in person) for management of day to day activities where required.
Utilization of ERP system and customer portals, where applicable, to manage inspection data and work activities.
Recommend and implement process improvements
Understand and use the following basic decision-making process so quality and timely decisions will be made that are supported and understood relative to the essential functions or the impact thereon: Requesting or determining that a decision or action need to be made (the requestors are not necessarily the decision maker(s);
Involving the “right people”, including those affected by the potential decision and those who have meaningful knowledge so they can contribute facts and opinions, if need be;
Identifying a criteria for a successful decision, including the likely risks; and
Determining and communicating how the decision making will be made (e.g. unanimous, consensus, single decision maker)

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
A genuine belief in continuous improvement and disciplined processes and a willingness to analyze, challenge and change processes, if needed, to create a more efficient environment and culture.

Additional position specific qualifications. o Familiarity with gages and measurement techniques.
o Able to understand and interpret blueprints, specifications, operations sheets, etc.
o Understands Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing.
o Computer literate (Windows, MS Office, E-mail, etc)
o Self-starter who is comfortable with hands-on activities.
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION REQUIRED
Minimum 3 years in an inspection or quality assurance role, preferably in Aerospace manufacturing environment.
CERTIFICATION/LICENSE REQUIRED
DQR/DSQR experience is a plus.
