Salary:
$25-28/hr depending on experience may go hire.
Hours:
Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30pm.
SUMMARY / OBJECTIVE
The role of the Metrology / QC and Production Support Technician is to perform inspections on in-house manufactured parts, externally produced parts, and components.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform quality inspections (dimensional and visual) using precision measuring instruments like CMM, micrometers, calipers, fixtures, and gauges Initiate rework or rejection of parts if required Accurately document the results of inspections ISO record keeping; completion of Non-Conformance Reports (NCR) Generate spreadsheets for data collection Laser, etch, or pin stamp numbers on parts Monitor and coordinate critical equipment and instrumentation to ensure proper operation and calibration is up to date Maintain all controlled document files and test records in a timely and accurate manner Evaluate problems and make initial recommendations for possible corrective action to supervisor Perform routine assignments supporting production Create staging areas for individual work orders Follow applicable ISO requirements, such as Work Instructions (WI) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) Transport parts from staging to designated shipping area Maintain acceptable housekeeping standards Exhibit a positive attitude and strive to learn new things daily Regular, consistent, and punctual attendance is required Wear proper safety equipment and comply with company safety rules at all times Other warehouse/shop duties as assigned, including various facilities-related projects Promote customer focus
COMPETENCIES
Knowledge of Metrology, QC, and Calibration techniques Knowledge of metric system Ability to ask for assistance when needed Willingness to accept direction and adapt to changes Anticipates the needs of the shop Strong written and verbal communication skills Accuracy and attention to detail Good decision-making, time management, and problem-solving Ability to read and interpret drawings
QUALIFICATIONS
Quality system awareness Familiarity with common plastics used in manufacturing ISO knowledge is a plus Intermediate to advanced shop math skills; metric knowledge a plus
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
High school diploma, GED, or vocational training required 2+ years as a quality inspector in a manufacturing environment
