This independent, field-based role involves conducting comprehensive inspections, performing system performance testing, and reviewing documentation. Reporting directly to the Operations Manager and Ownership, the Specialist also supports third-party contractors and may occasionally travel within the state of Florida. Responsibilities Perform pre-install, in-progress, and post-installation inspections Verify compliance with design specifications, NEC electrical codes, and PPM installation standards Conduct system performance tests (e.g., electrical checks, torque tests) using tools like multimeters and IV curve tracers Identify and document deficiencies; ensure timely corrective actions Maintain accurate, detailed QC records and support project commissioning Collaborate with engineering, project management, and field teams Provide completed inspection checklists for all projects Conduct unannounced quality audits during ongoing installations Perform physical QC tasks such as removing panels and opening enclosures Qualifications 3-5 years of hands-on experience with solar PV systems (installation, troubleshooting, or QC) In-depth knowledge of NEC codes and electrical construction practices Proficiency with tools such as multimeters, IV curve tracers, thermal imagers, and drones Ability to interpret solar design documents and single-line diagrams Excellent documentation habits and attention to detail Strong communication skills and ability to work independently Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and working at heights Compensation The compensation range for this position is $18-30 per hour, based on experience. Compensation is structured to reflect the independent, high-responsibility nature of the role. This position is full-time (40 hours a week) and on-site in our Gainesville office. Compensation will be reassessed based on performance after the first 90 days.
